Greetings! Week two into a worldwide pandemic that has finally reached our daily lives in the lovely state of Georgia. I've been trying to find the time to write a blog and seeing as how it has taken two years since my last blog post...its no surprise that it took the world shutting down for me to write a blog about weddings, something that I do and have been doing for so many years.
That's me! Courtney - the Peachy Keen Lady! When I'm not doing wedding related things you can find me trying to keep up with my kids and spending time with my husband and cat. Peachy Keen has blessed me with a wonderful life that provides for my family and supports a huge wedding community that surrounds me. I have the privilege of working with and referring so many wonderful venues, caterers, photographers, florists, coordinators, DJ's, cake bakers, videographers and fabulous hair and makeup teams. We all rally around each other building each other up in this industry. We also support a huge online community of fabric vendors, wholesale decor vendors, candle vendors, food markets, photo labs, flower distributors, etc we make up such a vast and valuable part this industry/economy and as a business owner, I couldn't be more proud to be but a small part of it. What a wonderful life to live because of the love and trust from all of my clients - past clients, current clients AND future clients (that's you hopefully) I have been able to chase my dreams and do what I love every single day! THANK YOU for having faith in Peachy Keen and all that you have done for us! I've planned weddings through no experience (just starting out), through venue closures, unexpected vendor emergencies, trees falling on a venue (true story crushed the venue and grooms car), family tragedies, my pregnancies, my own health emergencies, deployments, BAD weather, venues loosing power from a storm etc. I could keep going. Its been a wild ride and I wouldn't change a thing.
In all my years of weddings, planning through a pandemic is something I never thought of or prepared myself for. My advice to all of my clients at this time is the following:
This vendor team is more like a family - people we work with that we trust, and trust me it always shows at weddings. You get a fabulous wedding WHEN you have a fabulous vendor team. With SO many amazing places/venues like the DeKalb History Center, Callanwolde Fine Arts Center, Cator Woolford Gardens, Trolley Barn, The Georgian Terrace, The Factory ATL, King Plow, The Foundry at Purtian Mill, The Stave Room, The Solarium, Wimbish House, The Piedmont Room, Ventanas, Paris on Ponce, Westside Warehouse and I could keep going and going AND amazing vendors/people like Zest Atlanta, Endive, Dogwood Catering, Fox Bros, Luna Strings, Confection Perfection, The Cake Hag, Ballroom Blitz, Ampd Entertainment, Sifi Entertainment, Radial Entertainment, Lethal Rhythms, Krisandra Evans Photography, Lunalee Photography, Abby Byrd Photography, Laura Watson Photography, Whynn Photography, Robot Booth, Six Hearts Photography, Radiance to Go, Bombshell, Vigilante, Formal Faces, Etc and I could keep going and going and going so many wonderful people!! PLEASE work with your vendors through this trying time and know that we are here for you.
Please also know that I have cried so many tears this past week because I have SO been looking forward to this spring and summer wedding season and know how much your wedding days meant to you...they meant so much to me too. Making wedding days happen is what I do best and having things happen on such a large scale that are totally out of my control is something that I am not used to and has been a lot to handle - both for me and my clients. This is not the norm at all just ask the people that know me and work with me...I'm the miracle lady....I make things happen.....I always fix things and make them all better. All I can say is that we will make things better one day at a time and this will just be a memory existing with so many other memories. One more thing that we over came and the ending turned out better than we had originally planned.
Once in a while, right in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairy tale.
