Reception Playlist
Reception Music consists of important timeline protocol songs (intros, first dance, parent dances etc), dinner music and dance floor music
If you are working with a Band you will need to determine which protocol songs are live vs on an ipod, how many sets they will be playing during the reception (normally 2 to 3) and what music will be played during their breaks (ipod playlist)
Important protocol songs are:
Introductions - Wedding Party (Song 1), Wedding Couple (Song 2) (or everyone can be introduced to one song)
First Dance
Father Daughter
Mother Son
Cake Cutting
Dance Floor Open
Anniversary Dance
Sorority Dances
Hora
Bouquet Toss
Garter Toss
Last Dance (with guests or private)
Grand Exit

Dinner normally lasts 45 to roughly 90 minutes, you need to provide music played in the background during dinner. Your Band or DJ can provide you with suggestions for dinner music, but you can also give them some of your suggestions/requests.

Dance Floor music normally roughly 90 minutes to 2 hours, you need to provide music played during your dance floor. Your Band or DJ can provide you with suggestions for dance music, but you can also give them some of your suggestions/requests. You will need to provide a must play song list and a do not play song list. I normally suggest that your dance floor isn't open to requests because it distracts your DJ or Band and takes away from your wedding day experience. Its your wedding day and you should be in charge of the kind of music played during your dance floor.
