Booking Hotel Room Blocks:

Hotels are notoriously hard to get in touch with, make time to get in touch with them when securing your room block. They normally offer a courtesy room block of 10 or 20 rooms with a cut off date (normally 30 days prior to check in). Make sure that you are not liable for rooms that do not book. If you plan on filling your block you might be able to add a suite on to your reservation and have a larger room for getting ready in. If you plan on having hair and makeup services on wedding day, you will need to check in on your rehearsal day (normally day before wedding). If you plan on giving guests welcome bags at check in make sure to confirm if the hotel charges a fee for the front desk to store the bags and hand them to guests at check in. Some hotels do offer transportation services for guests staying at the hotel make sure to ask the concierge or room block coordinator.
