Hiring your hair and makeup vendor is a very important part of planning your wedding. You will need to hire a vendor that you like and that is very experienced in the industry. I have a trusted list of hair and makeup vendors that I work with a lot and highly recommend. When you hire your vendor you will reach out to them for a quote (number of services - hair and makeup for bride, bridesmaids, mothers etc). They will send you a quote with a trial included. You should ask your party who is interested in which service (one or both) and consider adding lashes and air brushing (if in the summer). Make sure to schedule your trial (1-2) months before your wedding and send the vendor photos of how you want your hair and makeup done, as well as the bridesmaids and other party. We will budget (2) hours for the bride's hair and makeup and (1) hour (30) minutes for each service for the bridesmaids and other party. You need to have a good getting ready location, hair and makeup will be arriving in the morning, a great location is a hotel or Airbnb. If you are staying at a hotel make sure to pay for the vendors parking, they will be valeting their cars. Be sure to not wash your hair the night before or morning of your wedding, your hair should be dry and "dirty" for best styling results. Make sure that your face is clean and you can have already put on lotion or moisturizer. Be ready for hair and makeup to arrive to your location have the room cleared and ready for them to work. They will unpack and get started as soon as they are setup. Make sure to ask if they will provide lipstick after they are done for touchups. When you go to your trial keep an open mind, it is a trial, if you don't like something speak up and be specific. They can make changes, that is why you are doing a trial. Most people don't wear a lot of makeup in the day-to-day life, but you will need a lot for it to show up in photos. Tell them if you are wanting more of a natural look or old hollywood glam etc. Either way, I do recommend false eye lashes and lipstick for photos. Most offer to stay for touchups on day of, this will be an additional charge.
