Ceremony Playlist
Ceremony music includes preceremony, processional and recessional songs
Preceremony music is music that will be played as guests enter into the ceremony and are seated, it is also called a prelude. Whether you are having a DJ or live musicians provide preceremony music you need anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes of music. Live musicians normally give you options for what they normally play during the prelude, but you can also give them some of your suggestions/requests. If you are working with a DJ, this vendor might also have suggestions for a prelude, but you can also give them some of your suggestions/requests. I normally suggest Vitamin String Quartet.
Processional music is music that will be played as the wedding party walks down the aisle. Normally there are 2 to 4 songs played during the processional. The recessional song is played after the wedding couple kisses and walks away from the ceremony. After the wedding party walks away from the ceremony, the DJ or live musicians can play a few minutes of music while the guests exit the ceremony.
Example:
Officiant walks down the aisle to the prelude then makes a cell phone announcement
Song 1 - Groom and Families
Song 2 - Bridesmaids & Groomsmen
Song 3 - Bride with Father
Song 4 - Recessional Song
Here are some popular processional and recessional songs:
