I love working with an off beat bride, one that likes to create new traditions and wants to give her guests an authentic experience. This wedding was a beautiful Hindu/Christian fusion wedding with both Indian and Moroccan Bohemian influences and decor. We kept the ceremony arbor decor fairly simple - white paper lanterns lining with aisle with heavy red rose petals, lighting surrounding the arbor with string and netted white lights, Moroccan lanterns of varying sizes and colors suspended from the arbor, and candles of varying heights enclosing the stage. Simply stunning! To keep the guests entertained we turned an old wrought iron gazebo into a photo booth guestbook area. Guests took each others pictures with an old Polaroid camera, signed them and glued each photo into a photo album for the bride and groom. Great idea for any bride on a budget looking for a great wedding guest activity during the cocktail hour. This outdoor reception spaced was easily transformed into an Indian/Moroccan Bohemian inspired wedding reception. We hung paper and Moroccan brass lanterns from the trees, assorted bright and colorful votive's were scattered throughout the tables, and custom made silver paper stenciled candle holders were made for each table surrounded with red rose petals. If you are an off beat bride in need of planning and decor assistance, then Peachy Keen Planners is at your service. I can help you incorporate your own authentic style into your wedding decor, helping you blend your personality with your wedding vision. Peachy Keen Planners

Weddings are a reflection of each couples unique and individual style. When I met with Paige and Andrew, they knew exactly how they wanted their wedding celebration to be - simple. They were so easy going and truly a pleasure to work with. Paige knew from the very beginning that she wanted to keep things easy. Her theme was vintage simplicity: flag garlands, burlap, buttons, navy books, and southern charm. Their wedding ceremony was beautiful from start to finish. Paige was stunning in her gown - with a navy sash around her waste and vintage hair piece. Paige's bridesmaids complimented her well carrying hydrangea bouquets with raffia. Peachy Keen Planners was happy to make her custom flag garlands for the altar, along with other aisle-way decor. Paige and Andrew brought in a vintage table for their salt ceremony and exchanged vows exactly as they had envisioned before this day. Simplicity at its finest - and as you can see Paige and Andrew couldn't have been happier! Their reception was a beautiful transition with Peachy Keen custom made flag garlands stretching across the reception tables. Each table was set with vintage inspired centerpieces: white alstroemeria and greenery in mason jars with raffia, lanterns with candles, and assorted buttons in baby food jars - all on top of burlap overlays. Paige and Andrew's guests had plenty to enjoy: grape, orange and cheer wine soda, low country boil with craw-fish, and desserts galore! I will never forget Paige and Andrew's wedding day and I am so grateful to have been a part of it. It truly was a gorgeous celebration for a gorgeous couple. Peachy Keen Planners wishes them many years of love and happiness. Contact Peachy Keen Planners for wedding ceremony and reception planning services in and around Atlanta Georgia!

Welcome to my Peachy Keen blog page! If I could pin point why, or should I say, how I became an event planner; my answer would have to be my mother. My mother was a natural entertainer. She would always throw wonderful parties and celebrations, with friends and family. She was an amazing chef, a creative artist, and an extremely talented singer. From the very beginning of my life, I was learning from her many talents. As time passed, my siblings and I grew older past our teenage years. My mother, who was a teacher for as long as I can remember, decided to take on a new profession. Growing up in a large family there was never a shortage of weddings. With her at the lead we began catering family weddings. Catering weddings was just the beginning for our family. Soon we found an old farm house in Buford Georgia. It was the house of her dreams, and suddenly our new adventure began. Our family built and painted new walls, installed new floors, built new paths, and planted new trees and flowers that turned the old farm house into Four Oaks Manor. Through it all, Simple Gatherings at Four Oaks Manor was born, and we had a very successful first year in business. Our happiness was short lived, only because our patriarch and founder, my mother, Lisa Ferrell West, was diagnosed with ALS. Her fatal diagnosis was devastating for my family. We decided to close our doors, after being open only 2 years. She was a beautiful person, and I learned so much from her, and continue to still even after her passing. Her dream of creating beautiful weddings, was too important to her children. After she passed away, we decided as a family to reopen Simple Gatherings at Four Oaks Manor. One story that I love to share with people about Four Oaks Manor, is the story behind the red doors. Everyone that gets married there, gets their pictures taken in front of the red doors of the Smoke House. In every house that I have ever lived in growing up, my mother always painted our front door red. So when my mother passed away, walking around Four Oaks, I couldn't help remembering that. I was outside one day, and said to my father, that I wanted to paint the doors of the old Smoke House red. We went to Home Depot, and purchased a bucket of Lipstick Red paint. As soon as the paint dried, the infamous Red Doors were born. If I contributed anything at all through the creation of Four Oaks Manor, I am both happy and proud to have contributed that story and special touch. The summer that we lost her flew by rather quickly, and that winter we happily celebrated our first wedding, since reopening. This celebration was even more special, since it was my own wedding. It was one of the happiest days of my life. I was married in December of 2008. I planned and setup the entire event with the help of my friends and family. My brother almost broke his back hanging Christmas lights on the house, and my sister flew in from Puerto Rico to cater all of the food and wedding cake. It was beautiful to say the least, and it was a night that I will never forget! In a lot of ways when I lost my mother I began to find myself. When my mother ran Simple Gatherings, she was the event planner and mastermind. When she passed, I had to learn her position without any training or instruction. But, I knew that she had been paving the path a head of me for some time. I learned quickly, and gained invaluable experience and insight into running successful weddings. In every learning process in life you expand and grow. I spent 5 years in total working, planning and coordinating weddings at Simple Gatherings. Two years with my mother, and three years with my father. But, my evolutionary journey doesn't end here. During my last year as wedding coordinator of Simple Gatherings, I created Peachy Keen Planners, with the assistance of one of my closest friends. Even though I started my own event planning business, I still had so much to learn. But, also so much to enjoy. I celebrated the creation of Peachy Keen Planners, but I also enjoyed the birth of my beautiful daughter, Lisa Laine Guthrie. Everyone says to cherish every moment when they are a baby because it goes by so quickly. Well, it does it really does. I took a break from weddings and soaked up every moment of her baby days and early toddler days. Upon re-entering weddings and focusing on Peachy Keen, I was offered a position as the Marketing and Club Relations Director, of The Manor Golf & Country Club. My position was simple : expand marketing efforts to create a bigger awareness of the club, bringing in more weddings. I hit the ground running. I put on two successful photo-shoots, one of which, was featured in Points North's Magazines first ever fall issue. I exhibited for The Manor at three expos : The Bridal Extravaganza, The Great Bridal Expo, and The Occasions Expo. Working for The Manor taught me a great deal. While working there, I met and gained the respect of a person of great notoriety and presence in the wedding industry of Atlanta, particularly the Indian wedding industry. Joining the Utopian Events team has been a huge accomplishment for me. I feel that my efforts have taken me such a great distance in a short time, but I know that I still have so much to learn. One of my dreams has always been to do Indian Weddings. Well, I do believe that dreams do come true, and they have for me in so many ways. I have been assisting my friend Shushil Patel with his businesses; Utopian Events and Elegant Chairs and Linens. Together we have learned so much from each other, and I have assisted in creating beautiful weddings. Weddings, that before this year only existed in my dreams, on reality TV shows, and in high end wedding magazines. The heart of this blog is me, Peachy Keen Planners. I am happy to report that I am still active, fully functioning and more alive than ever. I have clients in and out of state, and I am so excited with what 2013 has brought me. I am happy to be celebrating my third year in business, my daughters 3rd birthday and soon to be my 5th year wedding anniversary. I believe in celebrating life, and that your celebration should be exactly that, a celebration. Assisting people with their most precious and important life events, is what I enjoy the most. Event planning is something that I was born to do, since my journey began so long ago. I am so happy to be on my journey and where ever it leads me, and hopefully it leads me to you if you are reading this! If you are in need of wedding planning assistance. Then, please look no further than me!
